I caught the second half of the Denver Broncos vs New York Jets football game tonight just to watch Tim Tebow play.  It was a thrilling game, with Tebow scoring the game winning touchdown.

What most amazes me about him isn’t just that he’s a very good and unique player, but because he’s a prominent Christian athlete playing professional sports.  It’s been pretty well documented how he serves at his parents’ missionary orphanage during his free time, writes Bible verses on his eye black, and publicly prays during and after games.

I am so amazed at Tebow.  It must take incredible courage to do the things he’s doing, and acknowledging God through it all.  I have enough trouble acknowledging God in my academics and relationships, and this man is glorifying God on national television in front of millions of Americans.

When he joined hands with teammates and opposing players after the game to get together for prayer (right on national television!), it was a powerful moment.

Let’s pray that Tebow can continue to use his success to glorify God. He’s setting a remarkable example to everyone on how to live shamelessly by the Gospel.  He’s changing America, man.
